Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP)
Certified Human Resource Profession is the professional course intended to equip the learners/persons with knowledge, practical skills and attitude required for effective management of Human Resource to achieve organization and individual goals.
The course is divided into three (3) segments and each segment has several modules.

CHRP I is divided into levels one (1) and two (2).. This is for the entry level HR professional without any HR background as well as those already working in the HR profession but with no relevant qualifications.
Entry Requirements
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Aggregate C+
Have equivalent/relevant qualifications subject to approval by the Examinations Board (HRMPEB) OR
Have other relevant qualifications recognized by the Examination Board.
CHRP II
Entry Requirements
To be a holder of CHRP I certificate or
Diploma in Human Resource Management from a recognized university or
Hold equivalent qualifications recognized by the Examination Board.
It comprises of levels three (3) and four (4).
CHRP II
Entry Requirements
Hold Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) II
OR
Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from KNEC or its equivalent
OR
Hold a master’s Degree in Human Resource management from a recognized university
Hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Examinations Board
CHRP III
CHRP EXAMINATIONS/ ISSUANCE OF CERTIFICATE
(a) Internal Examinations: Training institutions will prepare and mark internal examinations and issue statements of results to the learners.
(b) Award of CHRP Certificates: HRMPEB shall offer CHRP examinations and award CHRP certificates to candidates who will have fulfilled all the requirements of the CHRP examinations.
EXEMPTIONS TO CHRP EXAMINATIONS
(a) HRMPEB may give exemptions to holders of Degrees, Diplomas and Certificates from recognized universities, examination bodies and other recognized institutions.
(b) HRMPEB shall grant exemptions on paper by paper basis to applicants who meet the set criteria
(c) Applicants seeking for exemptions should complete the relevant application forms and pay the prescribed exemption fees.
(d) All applications for exemptions must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents.
ELIGIBILITY FOR CHRP EXAMINATIONS
(a) Persons wishing to take CHRP examinations are required to apply for registration as HRMPEB students on payment of student registration fees.
(b) To sit for CHRP examinations, HRMPEB students will be registered as candidates of the training institutions where they are studying CHRP courses. No student will be registered as a private candidate.
(c) HRMPEB shall offer CHRP examinations while training institutions will conduct internal examinations.
(d) HRMPEB shall prescribe registration dates and other examination requirements.
(e) HRMPEB may accept late examination registration subject to payment of late entry fees of 50% of the normal examination fee as determined from time to time.
